Free for Kenyon students and employees. $1 for members of the public.
The Kenyon Route can deviate ¾ mile beyond the stated routes when requested. Call (740) 392-7433 to request a deviation between the route stops.
Mount Vernon Flex Routes
MON –SAT 7:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
No service running 11:00 A.M.– 12:00 P.M. (Lunch Break)
Night Bus
MON – SAT 7:00 P.M. – 3:00 A.M.
Pick up or drop off must be in the workforce zone locations: Mount Vernon Industrial Park, Fredericktown Industrial Park, or Coshocton Avenue.
Routes & Fares
In-County Rides (One-Way):
- 0–4 miles from Mount Vernon Square: $1.00
- 4–13 miles from Mount Vernon Square: $3.00
- 9–20 miles from Mount Vernon Square: $5.00
Out Of County Individual Fares:
- $5 trip fee + $1 per mile. $20 per hour wait time.
Kenyon Route:
- Free for Kenyon students and employees. $1 for the public.
- Route deviations up to ¾ mile are available upon request. Call (740) 392-7433.

Out-of-County Rides
Did you know we can take you anywhere in Ohio? If you need an out-of-county ride or want to schedule for a group, we’re here to help. Here’s what to know:
- Schedule in Advance: We typically require one week’s notice to arrange a driver for your trip.
- Trip Confirmation: We’ll confirm your trip three days in advance. If we can’t reach you to confirm, the trip will be canceled.
- Same-Day Accommodations: Same-day rides may be possible if we’re already traveling to your requested destination.
- Pricing: Out-of-county rides are priced per mile.

Group Rides
Our 18-passenger buses are perfect for events and programs, providing reliable and convenient service for your organization. When you book with Knox County Transit, you’re not just arranging a trip—you’re supporting the entire transit system. All trips paid for by organizations help us meet the local match required to access Federal operating funds, allowing us to serve more riders in the community.
Passenger Assistance
We’re here to make the trip as smooth as possible for every kind of rider. Here’s what you need to know about the assistance we offer.
- Door-to-Door Service: Drivers assist riders from the door of a building to the bus and vice versa.
- Wheelchair Assistance: Drivers can push wheelchairs over thresholds into a building but cannot enter rooms or residences. Drivers are not responsible for locking doors.
- Mobility and Accessibility: Mobility assistants and service animals ride for free. All vehicles are ADA accessible.
- Bag Assistance: Drivers can carry bags weighing up to 10 pounds. Riders are responsible for managing their own belongings, which must fit within the seating area.
- Children Under 13: Must be accompanied by an adult.
- All minors under age 18 must have Minor Intake packet on file.

Holidays on Saturday are observed the Friday before. Holidays on Sunday are observed the Monday after.
